The body knows.
Before language, there was movement. Before thought, there was the body. Movement is the most honest way to arrive in yourself, and the most fun!

When you move the way you actually want to — without performance, just for the pleasure of it — something releases. Endorphins. Tension. Stories you've been carrying in your hips and shoulders for longer than you know. You might discover a side of you that has been dormant.
Embara's movement experiences are not exercise classes. They are invitations to reconnect.
What to expect
Movement on Embara spans a wide range — from gentle, inward-facing somatic practices to full-body ecstatic dance to expressive theatrical arts. What they share is intention. Every experience here uses movement as a tool for something deeper than fitness: presence, liberation, self-discovery, joy.
Some sessions will make you sweat. Some will make you cry. Some will make you laugh so hard you forget where you are. Most will do all three.
To help you choose, each experience carries two signals:
Examples of what you might find
These are illustrations of the type of experiences available. The specific session, practitioner, and format are revealed upon booking.
A gentle, nurturing group practice that uses free-flowing movement to reconnect mind and body. Each session explores a theme, guided through movement exercises that help you understand how your body communicates, what beliefs and patterns are running underneath your daily life, and how to begin to shift them. Accompanied by music, held in community. The sharing after each exercise is where something shifts: the realisation that you are not alone in what you carry.
Minds off. Body and soul on. Ecstatic dance is freeform movement — no steps to follow, no choreography, no right way to do it. Just you, the music, and whatever your body wants to do next. The session moves like a wave: beginning soft and slow, building to a peak, then descending. This structure protects the body and opens the experience fully. What happens in between is yours alone. People arrive tired and leave transformed.
An exploration of femininity, self-seduction and authentic expression through the art of burlesque. This is not a performance class, it is an integration class. You will learn basic steps and weave them through choreography and improvisation, adding props, costumes and games to the rhythm of jazz. Feather boas, gloves, corsets and all. The goal is not to look a certain way. The goal is to rediscover the most expressive, fun, free and unapologetically yourself version of you.
Berlin 1930s. Liza Minelli energy. The art of cabaret — steps, technique, character, comedy, stage presence — explored through your own individual personality. You will find the inner diva, learn to own the room, and create choreographies rooted in one of the most iconic theatrical traditions in history. Props include chairs, black corsets and hats. No prior dance experience needed. A strong personality helps.
Twenty years of research on the feminine being, distilled into movement. Venus Dance is a therapeutic practice, a space where dance-therapy and playfulness meet to heal repressed sensuality, release shame and guilt, dissolve judgements both self-imposed and external. It works with the gut, the subtle energy, the deep feminine. You will feel more yourself than you have in years. Empowered, centred, connected, and proud.
Ground-based movement inspired by the animal kingdom. Quadrupedal movement, fluid transitions, primal patterns. This practice builds strength and mobility while reconnecting you to the intelligence your body already has. No equipment. No gym. Just the floor and the body you arrived in.

- You want to laugh, sweat, cry, or all three.
- You are done with exercise that feels like a chore and ready for movement that feels like coming home.
A note on these experiences
Several of the movement practices on Embara — particularly Venus Dance, Embodied Flow, and Ecstatic Dance — can surface unexpected emotions. That is part of their power. All practitioners are experienced and hold the space with care. If you are unsure which experience is right for you, reach out before booking.
